The Houston Chapter is parented by our national organization, The Gospel Music Workshop of America, Inc., founded in 1967 by the late Rev. James Cleveland. Known throughout the world as GMWA, this aggregation has and continues to make an enormous global impact on the world of gospel music. While its name might suggest that it is solely an American organization, GMWA proudly boasts membership of more than 75,000 members around the globe.
